EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
Helping children grow into healthy, happy responsible adults is our mission. Our programs include educational, social and recreational programs for youth of all ages.
AT THE HEART OF OUR WORK
Our Bright Beginnings School Readiness Program is a unique partnership between Action Network Family Resource Center and Horicon Elementary School in Annapolis. Bright Beginnings is located at Horicon.
Bright Beginnings provides a rich early childhood experience for 3 to 5 year-old children preparing for kindergarten. Academics follow the High Scope Curriculum; and exercise and nutrition follow the Sports, Play and Active Recreation for Kids program. Children also enjoy music, dancing, art projects, gardening, science projects and nutritious organic snacks.
Classes are held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:00 am – 12:30 pm during the school year. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, all students will need to be picked by 12:30 pm. There is no full day program for preschoolers and no aftercare once the morning session ends.
After-school care is offered from 12:40 pm – 3:00 pm for children attending Horicon’s kindergarten class. Space in the Kindercare program is limited.
Curriculum and class size subject to change due to ongoing COVID19 and county guidelines.
