BILINGUAL INFORMATION & ASSISTANCE

Absent of any type of government office in this region other than the City of Point Arena, Action Network is the only resource center open and staffed every weekday.

Culturally sensitive and bilingual staff members are there to provide information on health resources, payment options, and how to access services. Our community includes a growing Latino population, many with limited or no English language skills. In order to reach this segment of our community,

Action Network utilizes a bilingual, bicultural Resource Advocate to provide outreach services in the Latino Community. Over the last year Action Network has developed a grass roots approach of communicating with the widely dispersed residents, going to those places where people gather. Outreach sites include monthly WIC visits by Public Health, Tribal Offices, Clinics, Senior Center lunches, schools, churches, laundromats, grocery stores, post offices, rummage sales, community events, as well as home visits.
